Upon successful completion of this 16-hour IN-PERSON intermediate-level first aid training, the candidate will receive a valid certification that meets the requirements of 'Intermediate First Aid Training' as defined in the CSA Z1210-17 standard.

Your legal requirements in Manitoba

Manitoba's Workplace Safety and Health Act (CCSM c. W210) and Regulation 217/2006, Part 5, require employers to appoint enough first-aiders — classed Basic, Intermediate or Advanced per CSA Z1210-17 — scaled to workplace size, type of work and distance to a medical facility, with a first aid room required above 100 workers.
Manitoba's Child Care Regulation (Man. Reg. 62/86), s.7(11) requires all childcare staff to complete a first-aid course that includes age-appropriate CPR before employment or within a period approved by the provincial director, and to recertify on the director's schedule.
Under Manitoba's Good Samaritan Protection Act (CCSM c G65), a person who voluntarily provides emergency medical services, aid or advice at the immediate scene is not liable in damages unless grossly negligent, with no legal duty to rescue.
Manitoba nurses are regulated by the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) under the Regulated Health Professions Act, requiring an annual self-assessment and learning plan through the Continuing Competency Program rather than fixed hours, while BLS/CPR certificates are generally an employer requirement in hospital and long-term-care settings.
In Manitoba, personal care homes and home-care services are staffed by Health Care Aides whose programs include a Standard First Aid certificate and CPR Level C, met by a recognized, up-to-date certificate that is renewed periodically.
Manitoba foster homes are licensed under the Foster Homes Licensing Regulation made under The Child and Family Services Act, and a current first-aid and CPR certificate is commonly required by the licensing agency as part of caregiver preparation rather than by a single explicit statutory clause.
Online CPR and first aid training is recognized in Manitoba for personal, childcare-licensing and employer purposes, though the practical portion of CSA levels is normally completed in person.
